Dato' Sri Dr. Hj Shafie bin Mohd Salleh

Dato' Sri Dr. Hj. Shafie bin Mohd Salleh, born in 1946, was appointed to the Board in November 2006. His career with the Government spans many years and he has held various key positions in the Malaysian cabinet including the post of Minister of Higher Education, Deputy Minister of Finance and the Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Finance. He was the member of Parliment for the District of Kuala Langat Selangor.

Having received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from University Malaya, Dato' Sri Dr. Hj Shafie went on to pursue his Masters Degree in Development Studies at the Western Michigan University in the US. He then completed his PhD in Development Studies at the University of Wales, Swansea. He does not hold any directorships in other public companies in Malaysia.
