Datuk James Y. Chao

Datuk James Y. Chao, born in 1947, was appointed Executive Chairman of Titan in September 2003. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Titan Chemicals from the time of its inception in 1991. He has over thirty five (35) years of international experience in the plastics and petrochemical industry. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Westlake Chemical Corporation, a NYSE listed company originally founded by the late Datuk TT Chao (Chairman Emeritus of Titan) together with Datuk James Y. Chao and Mr. Albert Y. Chao.

He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University. He is involved in a number of non-profit organizations, namely as a Board Trustee of the Baylor College of Medicine and as a member of the Board of Trustees of KIPP (a 12K school system). He does not hold any directorships in other public companies in Malaysia.
