Safety, Environment and Health

Corporate social responsibility runs through the fabric of our organisation and guides our business decisions and the way we operate. We apply innovation, technology and resources to create better products to help our customers make a whole range of products that bring convenience, safety and value to their end-users. We do this by continually reviewing the impact of our business on society, economy and environment.

Titan is committed to excellent occupational health, safety and environmental performance through continuous improvement and we live true to our philosophy.
  • We believe that no job or service is so important and urgent that we cannot take time to perform safely.
  • We shall conduct our operations in accordance with all statutory and international standard practices.
  • We shall act in a responsible manner to prevent injury to ourselves and others.
  • We shall provide safety training and conduct safety audits to achieve an accident-free performance.
  • We shall preserve the environment to ensure that future generations can enjoy this earth.

Safety training courses are conducted regularly to ensure that all of Titan Chemicals personnel are familiar with all aspects such as firefighting, handling of special materials, equipment safety and electrical safety. In 2004, all of our staff underwent a 3-day Dupont Training on behavioral safety.

Titan Chemicals lives by an edict of its founder, Datuk T.T. Chao: To meet or exceed applicable environmental quality standards in all of our operations. This commitment to environmental standards is an integral part of our design, construction and operating philosophy. We are proud of our reputation for environmental compliance, safe operations and good corporate citizenship. Maintenance of this reputation is one of our most important goals.

The establishment of the Occupational Health Safety and Environment (OHSE) Steering Council in 2004 marks another key commitment by Titan Chemicals in its journey to achieving world-class safety excellence. The OHSE, which is chaired by the Managing Director, is tasked with the responsibility of enhancing Titan Chemicals’ Safety/ Performance and Awareness in all areas of operations.
